Sid Jacobson Jewish Community Center

I tried the JCC's group exercise program (www.sjjcc.org/fitness) under a one week pass that was advertised in a local mailer I received.

Group Exerciese: The center has a rather small, old group fitness studio, a spin room and pool and offers 47 classes Sunday-Friday (no classes on Saturdays), including mornings, some afternoons and evenings. I found some of the teachers less than inspiring, especially "Bill" who not only repeats the same movements over and over, but doesn't actually demonstrate proper form and does not actually perform the exercises himself. He is also not the model of physical fitness. I tried Absolute Conditioning, Bosu Blast, Total Body Sculpt, Buff Bodies, and Core Body Sculpt and found all the classes rather basic and unexciting. But overall got a good workout.

Amenities: The showers look very new and clean. There is no towel service, but you can borrow one sweat towel. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash are available in the showers and there is one hair dryer available.
